An event where the students go against the staff in a few Sporting events:
Futsal
Netball
Ping Pong 
Cricket
Do come and support ! ( the students :) )

Collaborative Study Area Monitoring Starts Tomorrow

Just a reminder that the ONE MONTH period for monitoring noise levels in Collaborative Study Starts TOMORROW.

Please do respect other students as they prepare for exams and maintain a low noise level. Remember you are most welcome to discuss academic related issues but please do keep your voices down and noise to a minimum. If not we will be forced to convert it to a Quiet Study Area.

Noise Levels in Collaborative Study Area

Hey Everyone,

It has been brought to our attention that at times the library has unacceptable levels of noise. A survey was conducted regarding the status of the library and an overwhelming majority also mentioned that they would like the library to be quieter.

To combat this issue SRC is instilling a ONE MONTH observation period starting MONDAY 14th MAY, where noise levels will be constantly monitored. We ask students to keep their noise level to a minimum. You are allowed to talk and discuss academic related issues but Collaborative Study is not an area for socialising.

If after this month noise levels do not improve we will be forced to CONVERT COLLABORATIVE STUDY INTO ANOTHER QUIET STUDY AREA.

SRC and the Librarians have also been given permission to remove any student or groups of students who are making excessive noise. Students are also allowed to complain about those making noise to either the librarian or any SRC member. All details will be kept confidential. 

We hope this will help improve the current situation and make Collaborative Study Area a place that benefits everyone.

After hour car park changes

Hey all,

Firstly apologies for the delay in your notification.

The following are the new rules put in place regarding parking at IMU. These changes are done to improve issues with parking on a long term basis. I have put up a basic outline that was given to us by IMU of what is to be expected in each phase of change. 

Phase 1
With immediate effect the SB Parking will only be available for staff parking. The ticket dispenser at SB Parking has been deactivated on Tuesday (24.4.2012) to avoid students and visitors from coming in and parking there.

For safety, students and staff are allowed to park in LG parking after 6.00pm but must leave before 7.00am the following day. Otherwise, their tyres will be clamped and a fine is imposed.

Phase 2
Plans for improvement at the hill top parking will be carried out taking into consideration on the safety and security of our staff and students parked there including a safer walk way.

Phase 3
If parking at the hill top is insufficient, there are available parking at the stadium open car park at RM2 per entry and only 5 minutes away from IMU.

We understand that this change can be of inconvenience to students and we really appreciate your support. We ask you to bear with the university as the issue with parking is being addressed by IMU.

Planned Maintenance - Servers Shutdown due to Power Maintenance


Due to Power Maintenance carry out by FMA Department, ITS will have to shut down all servers and network equipment.
During this plan maintenance all ITS services will be unavailable.
 
Although ITS Department has taken all possible precautions, we cannot deny that there are risks higher than in normal operations and would recommend that all staff take the necessary measures to prepare for this maintenance period.
 
 The following are the details of the Planned Maintenance window period:
 
Planned Maintenance Start Date: 1st May 2012 (Tuesday)
Planned Maintenance Start Time: 08:00 am
Planned Maintenance End Date     : 1st May 2012 (Tuesday)
Planned Maintenance End Time     : 5:30 pm

Join the Walk


Our lecturer, Dr Archana Sikarwar, constantly works withThe National Autism Society of Malaysia (NASOM),  holding on the thought that we have learned a lot from our society and now it is our time to contribute.

On the 15th April 2012(Sunday), there will be a  Walk for Autism. NASOM is hoping a contingent of IMU students to walk carrying a banner to say that IMU supports the cause of autism.

Participation fee at RM10 per student and all are required to wear IMU T-shirts during the activity.
